A Search Engine with Solution Delivery

A search engine that doesn't hand you ten blue links — it makes the booking, places the order, finishes the job.

Overview

Type "hotel in Goa for next weekend under ₹5,000" into Google and you get ten links. Type the same query into BIDUA's solution-delivery search engine and it returns three hotels with prices, availability and a one-tap booking — the transaction completes inside the search interface.

The thesis: large language models combined with structured API access (ONDC for commerce, IRCTC for trains, Goibibo/MakeMyTrip for travel, payment rails for transfers) make it possible to skip the ten-blue-links era entirely. Search becomes an agentic interface — you state the outcome, the engine executes it.

BIDUA's edge is not building a frontier LLM (we won't). It is owning the execution layer — the BIDUA-first inventory (Naploo, BIDUA Beauty, Virtual RDP), the wallet (FinWault), and the ONDC integration that turns a query into a transaction. Status is idea — concept in early R&D through 2026-2027.

Search engines were designed for a web of documents. The web is now a web of actions — book, order, transfer, submit. The next search engine doesn't return links. It returns outcomes.

Why now

The opportunity, on its own terms.

01

LLMs can finally do tool use reliably.

GPT-4-class models with function calling can chain APIs, parse availability, and execute payments — none of this was viable in 2022.

02

ONDC is live.

India's Open Network for Digital Commerce gives any new search engine immediate access to thousands of merchants without bilateral integrations.

03

UPI makes one-tap payment universal.

The execution leg of "complete my booking" is the easiest part in India — UPI handles it.

04

Google's search UX is unbundling.

Perplexity, ChatGPT, You.com — the moat is eroding fast. Indian-context, India-rails search has a real opening.

Market opportunity

Sized in three rings.

Total addressable
~₹6 lakh cr expected by 2030
Indian search advertising + commerce TAM
Ads + commerce-take-rate combined
Serviceable
~₹85,000 cr potential
Agentic-commerce share
Emerging — if validated
BIDUA share aim
10M MAU expected, ~₹400 cr GMV
BIDUA Search 2032 target
Sub-1% of Indian search queries
  • Indian users do ~5B Google searches/day — even 0.1% capture is meaningful.
  • ONDC processed 50L+ orders/month by 2025 — a search engine sitting on ONDC inherits supply instantly.
  • Perplexity reached 10M MAU globally in under two years — answer-style search has demonstrable PMF.
  • Indian booking commerce (travel + food + groceries) was ~₹1.8 lakh cr in 2024 and growing 18% CAGR.

Business model

How it works, end to end.

01

Answer-first interface

Natural language input. Engine returns a structured answer with execution buttons — book, order, pay, schedule — not just links. Sources cited transparently.

02

ONDC + first-party catalogue

All ONDC commerce is plumbed in by default. BIDUA's own inventory (Naploo, BIDUA Beauty, Virtual RDP) gets first-class placement when relevant.

03

Agentic execution

Multi-step actions — "book a Goa weekend, including return train, hotel and an Ola for the airport" — orchestrated as a single agent task with one user confirmation.

04

Wallet + payments

FinWault wallet preloaded for instant checkout. UPI fallback. Pre-authorised limits for trusted recurring actions (groceries, bills).

05

Revenue model

Commerce take rate (3-8% on ONDC categories), sponsored placements (clearly labelled), and a BIDUA One subscription for ad-free + higher-tier agentic actions.

Revenue streams

Three compounding phases.

Year 1–2

Prototype & PMF

  • Commission on Naploo + BIDUA Beauty bookings
  • ONDC pilot commerce share
  • Early subscription pilots
  • API access for ISV partners
Year 3–4

Scale

  • Commerce take rate across all categories
  • Sponsored answer placements (labelled)
  • Premium subscription (BIDUA One)
  • Travel & ticketing commissions
Year 5+

Platform

  • Agent-task subscription tiers
  • API/SDK licensing to OEMs
  • Enterprise search-as-a-service
  • Vertical specialisations (legal, medical, finance)

Timeline

Patient cadence, deliberate steps.

  1. Q3 2027
Closed R&D phase. Prototype agentic search on Naploo and BIDUA Beauty inventory only.
  2. Q1 2028
Closed alpha — 1,000 BIDUA customers. ONDC integration live.
  3. Q4 2028
Open beta. Travel and food-delivery agentic flows shipped.
  4. 2029
Public GA. Voice and Hindi-first interface.
  5. 2030
10M MAU target. Sustainable on commerce take rate.
  6. 2032
Vertical specialisations (legal, medical). Enterprise search-as-a-service launches.

Competitive landscape

Who else is here — and why we're different.

01 Google + Gemini Incumbent + frontier LLM: Strongest global search + best LLM. Slow to integrate transactional flows in India outside ads.
02 Perplexity Answer-first search: Great UX. No transactional layer. Not India-rails native.
03 ChatGPT Conversational LLM: Best general-purpose AI. Plugin/agent layer is general — no ONDC, no UPI-first design.
What BIDUA does differently
  • India-rails native — ONDC, UPI, Aadhaar e-KYC all first-class.
  • Owns first-party inventory through BIDUA's portfolio — guaranteed supply on day one.
  • Agentic by design — multi-step task orchestration, not just better answers.
  • Transparent sourcing and labelled sponsorship — trust-first design vs. ad-cluttered search.

Risks & mitigation

What can go wrong — and how we plan for it.

Risk 1

LLM hallucination on transactional queries

Mitigation: Hard tool-use boundaries — no commerce action without structured API confirmation. Human-readable audit log per action.

Risk 2

Compute costs at scale

Mitigation: Hybrid model stack — small fast model for routing, large model only for complex queries. Self-hosted on BIDUA Hosting.

Risk 3

Regulatory ambiguity on agentic commerce

Mitigation: Active engagement with ONDC, RBI and MeitY. Conservative defaults — explicit user confirmation per transaction.

Risk 4

Liability for incorrect actions

Mitigation: Per-transaction insurance. Refund-first policy. Clear T&Cs on agentic limits.

Risk 5

Search incumbents catch up

Mitigation: Compete on India-native rails and BIDUA inventory — not raw search quality. Niche down first, generalise later.

Common questions

Questions partners and investors actually ask.

Is this an LLM you are building?

No. We use best-in-class LLMs (open and proprietary). Our edge is the execution layer — APIs, ONDC, FinWault, BIDUA inventory.

How is this different from ChatGPT or Perplexity?

Those answer. We execute. Our agents complete the booking, place the order, schedule the appointment — not just describe it.

Will it work in Hindi?

Hindi and English at launch. Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi in the year following GA.

What if the agent makes a mistake?

Every action requires explicit user confirmation in v1. We log every step. Per-transaction insurance for paid tiers.

Will it be free?

Free tier with rate-limited agentic actions and ads. Premium tier (BIDUA One) for unlimited agentic tasks, ad-free, priority compute.

Does it work outside India?

Initially India-only. We deliberately want to dominate India-rails before expanding internationally.

How do you make money?

Commerce take rate on transactions completed in-engine. Sponsored placements (clearly labelled). Subscriptions.
