Acrylic & Radium Business Card
The business card finally catches up with the decade. Glow, weight, and a QR that actually works.
Paper business cards are commodity stationery. Indian printers churn them out at ₹1.50 a piece, and the recipient throws three-quarters of them away within a week. Meanwhile, founders, designers, real-estate brokers and luxury salons in tier-1 Indian cities are paying ₹3,000–₹8,000 for branded mood-boards, custom Instagram backdrops and premium swag — but the card in their pocket is still 300 GSM matte paper.
BIDUA's Acrylic & Radium Business Card concept closes that gap. Each card is laser-cut from 3 mm cast acrylic, UV-printed in full colour, and infused with a strontium-aluminate (radium-style) photoluminescent layer that charges under any light source and glows for six to eight hours in the dark. A QR code on the reverse links to a digital vCard, portfolio or Calendly link — making the card both a physical artefact and a CRM entry point.
Status: idea. We have validated the materials with two Noida-based laser shops and the photoluminescent powder supply chain through Gujarat trade contacts. We have not yet built the e-commerce funnel, designer studio or order pipeline. The expected market sizes below are scenarios — what could happen if the unit economics hold at the volumes we have modelled.
A paper card lasts one pocket-cycle. An acrylic card with a glowing logo gets photographed, shared on a founder's Instagram story, and lives on a desk for two years. The card stopped being stationery and became branding.
The opportunity, on its own terms.
Founders are over-spending on personal brand.
Indian D2C and SaaS founders are dropping ₹50k–₹2L on professional photoshoots, custom merch and LinkedIn personal-brand consultants. A ₹500 business card that gets remembered is the cheapest ROI in that stack.
Acrylic laser-cutting is cheap and local.
Noida, Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru now have 200+ small laser shops with sub-₹15 lakh CO₂ cutters. The supply side is fragmented and ready to be aggregated under one quality-controlled brand.
Photoluminescent pigments hit a quality tipping point.
Chinese and Gujarati suppliers now offer strontium-aluminate powders that glow 10× brighter and longer than the zinc-sulphide phosphors of the 2000s — and are non-radioactive (the original radium signage chemistry is banned).
The card is now half-digital.
A QR linking to a Linktree-style profile lets one card replace a website, contact form and Instagram handle. Customers are paying for a physical object that does digital work.
Sized in three rings.
- Founders, realtors, salon owners, photographers, wedding planners — the four buyer personas willing to spend ₹500+ per card.
- Corporate gifting: a 200-employee company spending ₹400/card on premium onboarding cards = ₹80k / order.
- Wedding industry: card-as-keepsake for high-net-worth weddings — average order ₹50k–₹1.5L.
- Export potential: Dubai, Singapore and Bay Area Indian founder networks are early adopters of physical-digital hybrids.
How it works, end to end.
Direct-to-consumer studio
A web configurator lets the customer pick shape, finish, glow colour, engraving and QR destination. Orders ship in 5–7 days from a Noida micro-factory.
Designer concierge tier
For ₹2,500+ orders, a BIDUA designer hops on a 15-min call, mocks the card and ships proofs. This is where founder-tier customers convert.
Corporate gifting B2B
Bulk SKUs for 50+ employee onboarding packs, agency gifts and wedding favours. Annual contracts with HR vendors and wedding planners.
White-label for stationery brands
Existing premium stationery brands and wedding stationers outsource production to BIDUA under their own label.
Three compounding phases.

Who else is here — and why we're different.
- Photoluminescent layer that genuinely glows 6–8 hours — most competitors fake it with reflective film.
- Integrated digital vCard backend built on BIDUA Hosting infrastructure.
- Designer concierge tier — no other Indian acrylic-card maker offers human design support.
- Vertically integrated micro-factory means consistent quality across 100k+ orders.
What can go wrong — and how we plan for it.
Commoditisation by laser shops
Mitigation: Brand-first positioning, exclusive pigment supply contracts, and design-IP library that competitors can't replicate.
Low repeat-purchase frequency
Mitigation: Subscription reprint plans for sales teams, plus expansion into wedding and corporate gifting where one client equals 200+ units.
Photoluminescent pigment supply shocks
Mitigation: Dual supplier strategy across Gujarat and Guangzhou. Hold 90-day buffer stock.
Acrylic is not biodegradable
Mitigation: Offer plant-fibre composite alternative SKU by Year 3. Carbon-offset tie-up at checkout.
Idea-stage assumptions on demand
Mitigation: Soft-launch with 100 founder orders before committing factory capex. Kill criteria if CAC exceeds ₹600 by Month 6.

ip.bidua.inQuestions partners and investors actually ask.
Is the glow actually radioactive?
No. The original radium chemistry from the 1950s is banned. Our cards use strontium-aluminate, a non-toxic, non-radioactive phosphor approved for consumer use globally.
How long does the glow last?
After 5–10 minutes of light exposure (sunlight, room lamp or phone torch), the card glows visibly for 6–8 hours and faintly through the night. The pigment itself does not fade for 10+ years.
What does a card cost?
Entry SKU starts at ₹400 per card in a pack of 50. Designer concierge orders with custom shapes and gold-foil engraving run ₹800–₹1,500 per unit.
How long does delivery take?
Standard orders ship in 5–7 working days from Noida. Rush orders (48 hours) are available at +40% surcharge.
Can I put a QR code linking to my Instagram?
Yes. Every card ships with a permanent QR code linked to a BIDUA-hosted profile page — you can edit the destination anytime without reprinting.
Is it durable enough for a wallet?
3 mm cast acrylic survives normal pocket wear. We also offer a 2 mm slim variant for wallet-friendly fit.
Can I order just 10 cards?
Minimum order is 25 cards. Below that, unit cost makes no economic sense for either side.
Do you do corporate bulk orders?
Yes — we have a dedicated B2B desk for 100+ unit orders with employee-name personalisation, custom QR per person, and branded packaging.
Be one of the first 100 founders to carry it.
We're opening a closed pilot batch in Q2 2027 — 100 hand-picked founders, designers and realtors get free design help and a sub-cost first order in exchange for honest feedback.
