Overview

India added 88 million content creators between 2022 and 2025. YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and Moj have made cinematography a daily skill for hairdressers, fitness coaches, food vendors and small-town journalists. But the equipment market is bifurcated: ₹2,000 selfie sticks at one end and ₹35,000 DJI gimbals at the other, with nothing reliable in between.

BIDUA's Automatic Video Shooting Gimbal targets the middle. A 5-axis stabilised motorised mount with on-device AI for face tracking, gesture-based control (no app needed for basic operation), and cinematic motion presets — orbit, dolly-zoom, reveal — that creators can trigger with a single button.

Status is idea. Reference designs from licensed gimbal-motor suppliers are under evaluation, and the AI tracking layer is being prototyped on an STMicro neural-accelerator dev board. The differentiation hinges on getting good-enough tracking quality at half the DJI Osmo price point.

Every Indian wedding now has three phones recording from three angles. The real opportunity is not better cameras — it is the invisible camera operator who never blinks and never asks for a tip.

Why now

The opportunity, on its own terms.

01

Creator economy is now mainstream income.

88M+ Indian creators, with 8M+ earning measurable monthly income. They need tools that pay back in views, not status purchases.

02

On-device AI accelerators are cheap.

Neural-net chips that cost USD 40 in 2022 are USD 8 today. Real-time face tracking at 30 fps on a battery-powered handheld is now affordable hardware.

03

DJI faces export-control friction.

Ongoing US-China policy turbulence has caused intermittent supply gaps for DJI products in India. A reliable Indian-assembled alternative wins shelf space.

04

Wedding and event market is booming.

Indian weddings are a USD 130B/yr industry. Mid-tier videographers want a gimbal that handles the second-camera angle while they focus on the primary shot.

Competitive landscape

Who else is here — and why we're different.

01 DJI Osmo Mobile / Pocket Imported premium: ₹15,000–35,000. Best-in-class but expensive and subject to supply disruptions.
02 Zhiyun, Hohem Imported mid-range: ₹8,000–15,000. Limited India service network, lukewarm app quality.
03 Selfie sticks and basic mounts Budget alternative: ₹500–2,500. No stabilisation, no tracking — not a real substitute.
What BIDUA does differently
  • On-device AI tracking eliminates the smartphone-app dependency that frustrates creators with low-end phones.
  • Indian creator footage in training data — better face tracking across Indian skin tones and lighting conditions than imports.
  • BIS-certified Indian assembly with full warranty and 30-city service network.
  • Curated creator-bundle SKUs simplify the buying decision for first-time creators.

Risks & mitigation

What can go wrong — and how we plan for it.

Risk 1

DJI price war

Mitigation: Compete on bundle value and service network, not raw spec. Education and wedding verticals are less price-elastic than D2C creators.

Risk 2

AI model accuracy in real-world lighting

Mitigation: Ongoing OTA model updates. Training set deliberately weighted toward weddings, kitchens, gyms and outdoor markets — the actual Indian creator environments.

Risk 3

Motor and battery component supply

Mitigation: Dual-source motor vendors. Battery from a domestic LFP supplier already qualified for our other product lines.

Risk 4

Creator-economy slowdown

Mitigation: Wedding, education and small-business verticals don't depend on the YouTube/Instagram monetisation curve.

Common questions

Is it good for wedding work?

Yes — payload supports gimbal-mounted mirrorless cameras up to 1.5 kg. Wedding-Kit SKU bundles all the accessories required.

What about service support?

Doorstep pickup and replacement in 30 Indian cities. 12-month manufacturer warranty plus optional extended care.
