Car Wheel Center Cap with Stable Logo

Your logo, perfectly upright at 120 km/h — the smallest detail that separates flagship from forgettable.

Car Wheel Center Cap with Stable Logo
Logo rotation regardless of wheel spin
₹6,500
Expected set of 4 MRP
Magnetic
Floating gyroscopic bearing
OEM-spec
Designed for retrofit on premium cars

Overview

Bentley patented it. Rolls-Royce made it iconic. The floating wheel-centre cap — where the brand logo remains perfectly upright regardless of how fast the wheel spins — is one of the most quietly recognised pieces of automotive design jewellery in the world. It exists on roughly 200,000 cars globally, almost all of them above the ₹2 crore price point.

BIDUA's proposition is to bring this exact mechanism, at OEM quality, to the Indian aftermarket retrofit segment for the BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and luxury-EV crowd at ₹6,500 for a set of four. The mechanism is a magnetic gyroscopic bearing housed in a brass-and-aluminium shell — the logo plate is weighted at the base, so gravity holds it upright while the outer hub rotates freely with the wheel.

This is a small SKU with a sharp customer profile. We are not selling to everyone who owns a car. We are selling to the 80,000-odd Indian buyers each year who already pay ₹40,000+ for a set of wheels, who detail their car every weekend, and who get a noticeable dopamine hit from a detail no one else has.

A car is a million engineering decisions stacked into one object. Most are invisible. The few visible ones — including a logo that refuses to spin with the wheel — are what people actually photograph.

Why now

The opportunity, on its own terms.

01

Luxury car sales in India crossed 50,000 units in 2024.

BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Lexus, Volvo and luxury EV brands all report record growth. The base of potential customers has tripled in five years.

02

The Bentley patent has expired in key jurisdictions.

The original spinner-cap patent (granted 1998) is now in the public domain. Manufacturing a non-infringing variant is fully legal — and the engineering tolerances are within Indian CNC capability.

03

Car content is the new luxury content.

Instagram and YouTube car detailing channels in India crossed 8 million subscribers collectively. Visual differentiation on a wheel — something the camera can film — is genuinely valuable to buyers.

04

Aftermarket retrofit is under-served in India.

Buyers want flagship-grade details on their A4 or 3-Series without buying a 7-Series. The premium accessories aftermarket is fragmented and dominated by low-grade Chinese imports — a quality gap we can fill.

Market opportunity

India premium car accessories (expected)
Potential 18% CAGR through 2030
Serviceable

BIDUA 2029 target
Potential ₹7.8 cr revenue at scale
  • BMW, Mercedes and Audi together delivered an estimated 38,000 units in India in FY25 — the core target base.
  • Tesla, BYD, Lotus and Lucid plan India entries between 2026 and 2028 — additional 15,000+ premium EVs annually.
  • Indian buyers spend an estimated ₹80,000 to ₹2 lakh on aftermarket personalisation in the first 12 months of luxury car ownership.
  • Wheel and rim accessories are the second-most photographed exterior detail after the front grille on Instagram car content.

Business model

How it works, end to end.

01

OEM-spec manufacturing

Brass gyroscopic bearings machined to ±0.02 mm tolerance. Anodised aluminium outer ring. UV-stable enamel logo plate. Built to handle 120+ km/h sustained, monsoon water ingress and Indian road dust.

02

Vehicle-specific SKUs

Each car model gets its own dimensioned cap — 65 mm for most BMWs, 60 mm for Mercedes, 56 mm for Audi. Universal does not work in this category. Twelve launch SKUs cover 85% of the addressable cars.

03

Detailing-studio partnership

Sell through India's top 200 detailing studios (3M, Detailing Devils, Topaz, Modesta studios) with a 30% partner margin. They install, they upsell, they handle warranty.

04

Direct-to-enthusiast online

Premium D2C storefront with vehicle-fitment selector. Higher margin than studio channel. Targets the 20% of buyers who self-install.

05

Logo-licensing optional play

Long-term — work with Indian car-tuning houses (Dilip Chhabria designs, DC2 etc.) for co-branded caps. Adds story and headline price.

Competitive landscape

Who else is here — and why we're different.

01 Bentley / Rolls-Royce OEM caps OEM exclusive: Only fit factory wheels. Cost ₹40,000+ for a set. Not available aftermarket.
02 AliExpress generic spinners Grey-market import: Cheap, low-tolerance, fail at highway speeds. Tarnish the category but show the demand.
03 BBS / Vorsteiner wheel sets Premium wheel brand: Sell entire wheels with branded caps. Different product, adjacent customer.
What BIDUA does differently
  • OEM-grade tolerance — not AliExpress quality.
  • Vehicle-specific SKUs, not one-size-fits-all.
  • Indian-made with full RTO and insurance documentation.
  • Replaceable bearing — refurbishable, not throwaway.

Risks & mitigation

What can go wrong — and how we plan for it.

Risk 1

Bearing failure at speed

Mitigation: 180 km/h dyno testing as production gate. Replacement under warranty for the first 18 months at no charge.

Risk 2

Water and dust ingress

Mitigation: IP67-rated sealing. Tested in monsoon-equivalent conditions before each SKU goes live.

Risk 3

Theft of caps from parked cars

Mitigation: Security-lug installation tool. Cap is keyed to a buyer-specific tool, sold separately.

Risk 4

Insurance and RTO ambiguity on modifications

Mitigation: Centre-cap retrofit is not a structural modification — falls outside the CMVR notice. We provide a one-page documentation pack for buyers.

Risk 5

Counterfeits

Mitigation: QR-authenticated holographic seal on every cap. Buyers verify on bidua.in.

Common questions

Questions partners and investors actually ask.

Will this void my car warranty?

No. Centre-cap replacement is reversible in under a minute and does not touch any factory wiring, sensors or structural component. Manufacturer warranties remain intact.

Does it fit my car?

We launch with 12 SKUs covering 85% of luxury cars sold in India. Enter your registration number on the storefront and the fitment is confirmed automatically.

What happens at high speed?

Tested up to 180 km/h on a dyno and 200 km/h in a single-pass real-world test. The bearing is designed for sustained operation at Indian expressway speeds.

Will it rust in the monsoon?

No. The bearing housing is brass, the outer ring is marine-grade anodised aluminium, and the seal is IP67. Two-year warranty against corrosion.

Can someone steal the caps?

Each set ships with a security-lug installation tool unique to the buyer. Removal without the tool is extremely difficult.

Is the logo customisable?

Launch SKUs use a neutral BIDUA monogram or a clear blank that you can place a vinyl logo onto. Bespoke metal-etched logos are available as a paid upgrade from 2028.

Is it RTO and insurance compliant?

Yes. A cap retrofit is not a structural or notifiable modification under Indian motor-vehicle rules. We provide documentation if asked.

What is the return policy?

30-day return if unused. Installed sets can be returned within 7 days only if a fitment defect is established.

Get involved

Pre-book the first 100 sets.

We are taking 100 founding-customer pre-orders for the launch SKUs at ₹4,999 a set (versus ₹6,500 retail). Vehicle-fitment confirmation before payment.
