Family Photo & Video Platform
A private cloud for the family album — sovereign, generational, and free of advertising.
Every Indian household has a phone full of photos and videos — weddings, birthdays, first steps, the dadaji who passed away, the cousins now living abroad. These memories sit on individual phones, scattered WhatsApp threads, free Google Photos accounts and the occasional ageing hard drive. They are not organised, not shared across generations, and very much not private — the free cloud you upload them to often reserves the right to scan, train on, or surface them in ways the family never agreed to.
Existing options force a trade-off. Google Photos is convenient but increasingly metered, advertising-adjacent and US-hosted. iCloud is locked to Apple. Self-hosted solutions (Synology, Nextcloud) require technical skill the average Indian household does not have. There is no Indian, family-first, generational photo and video vault.
BIDUA's Family Photo & Video Platform is a private, encrypted, India-hosted media vault designed for the Indian joint family. Multiple members upload from any device, automatic face-and-event clustering organises everything, elders see a simplified TV-friendly view, and ownership is inheritable — the account passes down with documented succession, not lost passwords.
Every wedding photo you upload to a free cloud is also training data for something else. A family's visual history deserves its own vault — closed, encrypted, inheritable, and answerable only to the family that owns it.
The opportunity, on its own terms.
Free cloud storage is quietly ending.
Google ended unlimited high-quality photo backups in 2021; Apple keeps raising iCloud price points. Families are realising 'free' was always a marketing line.
DPDP Act and data-sovereignty awareness are real.
Educated urban households increasingly want personal data stored in India, under Indian law, on a service answerable to Indian regulators.
Indian joint-family structure suits multi-user vaults.
A typical urban family has 3–6 active phones contributing media. A shared, organised, multi-uploader vault is a more natural fit than per-individual accounts.
On-device AI now makes private organisation possible.
Face clustering, scene detection and OCR can run partly on-device — meaning we can sort and search a family's photos without ever sending features to a third-party API.
Sized in three rings.
- Smartphone households in India: ~200M, of which ~30M are realistic premium-segment buyers.
- Average urban household stores 80–150 GB of photos and videos today — growing roughly 30% per year.
- Apple, Google and Microsoft together earn an estimated USD 15B+ annually from personal cloud subscriptions — clear willingness-to-pay.
- NRI families are an obvious adjacency — generational media shared across India, Gulf, US and UK.
How it works, end to end.
Tiered family plans
Starter (₹99/month, 200 GB, 4 members), Family (₹249/month, 1 TB, 8 members), Joint Family (₹499/month, 5 TB, 15 members). Annual prepay knocks 20% off across tiers.
Inheritable ownership
Every account has documented succession — nominated heirs, a legal-grade ownership transfer process and the option to designate a family administrator. The vault outlives any one phone, any one user.
Multi-device, multi-uploader
Anyone in the family circle can contribute media from any phone or browser. AI clustering ties faces, events and timelines automatically; manual albums sit on top for special occasions.
Print-on-demand revenue
One-tap photo books, framed prints and personalised calendars shipped pan-India. Margins on physical print are healthy and reinforce emotional retention.
Add-ons
Optional ₹49/month per family for an elder-friendly TV mode (Fire TV / Android TV app), automatic restoration of old scanned photos and document-vault sub-folders (passports, certificates) with encryption at rest.
Three compounding phases.

What can go wrong — and how we plan for it.
Storage cost economics
Mitigation: Tiered hot/cold storage on BIDUA Hosting; deduplication; annual prepay improves cash conversion.
Trust building from scratch
Mitigation: Public transparency report, third-party security audits, clear deletion and export options.
Customer churn on price
Mitigation: Annual plans, family lock-in across multiple uploaders, physical print habits that reinforce stickiness.
Data loss incidents
Mitigation: Triple-replication across geographies inside India, encryption at rest, quarterly disaster-recovery drills.
Competition from Google free tiers
Mitigation: Position around privacy, sovereignty and family structure — not on price-per-GB.

finwault.comQuestions partners and investors actually ask.
Where is my data stored?
Inside India, on BIDUA Hosting infrastructure, with triple-replication across data centres and full encryption at rest.
Will my photos be used to train AI?
No. We do not sell, license or train third-party AI on your media. On-device AI features that organise your library run locally where possible.
How many family members can share one account?
Starter supports 4, Family supports 8 and Joint Family supports 15. Larger custom plans are available on request.
What happens to the account if the owner passes away?
Every account documents nominated heirs at signup. On legal verification, ownership transfers to the nominee — the vault continues without interruption.
Can I migrate from Google Photos or iCloud?
Yes. We provide guided import tools for both, including takeout files and direct API import where the platform permits.
Is there a free tier?
We will offer a small free tier (a few GB) so families can try the experience, but the core proposition is a paid, ad-free service.
Can elders without smartphones use it?
Yes — the TV-app add-on lets grandparents browse photos on a TV with a simple remote-friendly interface. Family members upload from their phones; elders consume on the big screen.
What if I want to leave?
Full export to original-resolution files at any time, no lock-in. We even provide a hard-drive-shipping option for very large libraries.
Your family's memories deserve their own vault.
Private beta opens Q3 2026. India-hosted, encrypted, no ads, no data sold — and the account passes to your children with documented inheritance.
