A number plate flipper is a motorised frame that rotates between two plate faces on command — Plate A visible, then a Bluetooth tap, and the frame revolves to Plate B. It is the kind of mechanism James Bond drove in Goldfinger, and the kind that still shows up in Bollywood action sequences, car-show display vehicles, OEM showroom rotation rigs, film prop departments and gated-property private collections.
BIDUA is building this strictly as a show, exhibition and film prop SKU. Section 192 of the Motor Vehicles Act in India makes it illegal to operate a vehicle on a public road with a concealed or obscured registration number — and a flipper, by design, is built to alter what is displayed. We are explicit about this in the product listing, the packaging and the buyer agreement: this device is for closed-floor exhibition use only, not for public roads.
Inside that constraint, there is a real business. Auto Expo, Bharat Mobility Show, Bollywood prop houses, OEM showrooms (Mercedes, Lamborghini, Ferrari dealerships rotate display plates), private collectors at gated estates, and high-end film and ad production houses — these buyers spend tens of crores each year on display-grade automotive props. A precision-engineered Indian-made flipper, sold with full legal disclaimer, is a defensible niche product.

Can I use this on my car on the road?
No. Section 192 of the Motor Vehicles Act prohibits the use of any device that alters or obscures a registration plate. This product is sold strictly for closed-floor, prop and exhibition use. We will not sell it for road use, full stop.
Who actually buys this then?
Film and ad-production prop houses, OEM showroom networks, auto-expo exhibitors, concours organisers and private collectors with gated property.
Is the sale legal?
Yes — manufacturing and selling the device for the declared exhibition / film use case is legal. Misuse on a public road is the buyer's responsibility and a criminal offence under the MV Act.
How fast does it flip?
Full A-to-B rotation in 1.2 seconds. Designed to be cinematic, not stealthy — the mechanism is visible and audible.
Can it hold any number plate?
It accepts standard Indian HSRP-sized plates as well as European, American and custom display plates up to 520 × 110 mm.
How is it controlled?
A BLE-paired smartphone app or a physical key fob, both paired uniquely to the device serial number.
What is the warranty?
One year on the mechanism, six months on the BLE board. We service through a single authorised centre in Noida.
Do you ship outside India?
Export sales are case-by-case and require destination-country legal clearance from the buyer.
