Unemployment Solution Platform

India does not have a jobs problem — it has a translation problem between skills and work.

Overview

India's headline unemployment number is roughly 7–8%, but the deeper truth is far worse: tens of millions of young Indians are stuck between not-quite-skilled and not-quite-employed. They have done a NSDC course, a polytechnic diploma, an ITI certificate — and a year later they are still selling SIM cards or driving an aggregator cab while waiting for 'a proper job'.

On the other side sits a vast set of employers — MSMEs, retail chains, logistics firms, hospitality groups, healthcare providers — who genuinely cannot find shop-floor, field-sales, technician and operations talent that fits. They get LinkedIn applicants who don't show up to interviews and walk-ins who can't be verified.

BIDUA's Unemployment Solution Platform is a single, opinionated layer that does five things end-to-end for one job-seeker: assess actual skill in their language, fill the gaps with short, employer-relevant micro-courses, verify identity and background, place them in a real job (or self-employment loan), and stay with them for the first 90 days. Employer-funded, free to the worker.

We have a generation that can drive an auto, repair a phone, install solar panels and run a kitchen — and yet a portal still asks them for a resume in Times New Roman. The translation layer is the whole opportunity.

Why now

The opportunity, on its own terms.

01

Skill India has trained the pool — but not placed it.

Crores have passed through NSDC, PMKVY, ITI and polytechnic programmes. The unmet bottleneck is no longer training — it is matching, verifying and placing.

02

MSMEs are starving for trustworthy hires.

Roughly six crore MSMEs collectively employ over 11 crore Indians and consistently report 'hiring' as a top-three operational pain point. They will pay for outcomes, not for resumes.

03

Gig and platform work has normalised micro-employment.

A worker today is comfortable doing a 6-month role, then a 9-month role, then a self-employment stint. Lifetime employment is no longer the only product to sell.

04

Voice and vernacular AI finally work.

A school-leaver in Bihar can now go through a competency interview in Bhojpuri, on a ₹6,000 phone, and have it scored reliably. Two years ago this experience was barely usable; today it is production-ready.

  • India will add ~9 crore non-farm jobs by 2030 per various government estimates — most blue/grey-collar.
  • MSMEs employ 11+ crore Indians and consistently flag hiring as a top operational pain.
  • PMKVY 4.0 and Skill India Digital provide a national skilling backbone we can integrate with.
  • Gig economy is expected to reach 23.5 million workers by 2030 per NITI Aayog.

Business model

How it works, end to end.

01

Skill assessment in mother-tongue

Voice-first competency interviews in 12 Indian languages, covering 60+ job families — retail associate, electrician, beautician, kitchen helper, BPO voice, two-wheeler mechanic, solar installer, nurse aide and so on. Standardised, repeatable, scored.

02

Gap-fill micro-courses

Where the assessment shows specific gaps, the platform serves short, employer-validated micro-courses (4–40 hours), often built jointly with the hiring employers themselves. Completion unlocks placement eligibility.

03

Verification layer

Aadhaar-linked identity, e-KYC, prior-employer reference checks, optional police verification. Employers stop wondering whether the candidate is real — they get a verified, scored profile.

04

Pay-on-placement to employers

Job-seekers pay nothing. Employers pay only on successful placement (typically 4–8% of annual CTC for grey-collar; ₹2,000–₹6,000 flat for blue-collar). Refund / re-placement guarantee within 90 days.

05

Entrepreneurship lane

For candidates better suited to self-employment, the platform routes them to micro-loans, equipment financing and small-business mentoring — partnering with banks, NBFCs and FinWault.

Competitive landscape

Who else is here — and why we're different.

01 apna.co / WorkIndia / Rocket Blue/grey-collar job apps: Strong job listings, weak verification and almost no skilling. Likely partial collaborators in some categories.
02 NSDC / Skill India Digital Government skilling backbone: Massive training reach but limited placement outcome. A natural partner, not a competitor.
03 Traditional staffing companies Offline placement firms: Dominate organised staffing but expensive and metro-biased. We undercut on cost and reach.
What BIDUA does differently
  • Single platform for assess → train → verify → place → mentor — no other player owns the full chain.
  • Voice-first, vernacular-native assessment — meeting the candidate where they actually are.
  • Employer-pays model means job-seekers never face a fee — important socially, important politically.
  • Plugged into BIDUA's own hiring across pods, hosting, beauty and naploo — guaranteed early demand.

Risks & mitigation

What can go wrong — and how we plan for it.

Risk 1

Assessment fairness and bias

Mitigation: Externally audited scoring frameworks, regular adverse-impact testing, multilingual review board, transparent appeals process.

Risk 2

Employer fee collection difficulty

Mitigation: Pre-funded escrow for new employers, post-paid only for verified repeat employers, automated invoicing and clear 90-day replacement clause.

Risk 3

Ghost candidates / no-shows

Mitigation: Aadhaar-verified profiles, attendance-tracked interview slots, candidate scoring penalties, employer-side rating signals.

Risk 4

Regulatory shifts in gig / labour law

Mitigation: Active legal monitoring, modular compliance per state, partnership with established staffing companies for full-employee placements.

Risk 5

Race-to-zero pricing pressure

Mitigation: Outcome guarantees and verification premium justify pricing; analytics and entrepreneurship lanes add margin layers competitors cannot match.

Common questions

Questions partners and investors actually ask.

Is the platform free for job-seekers?

Yes — completely. Assessment, training, verification, placement and 90-day mentoring are all free for the worker. Employers fund the platform.

How do you assess skills in a regional language?

Voice-first competency interviews powered by Indian-language speech models. The candidate speaks naturally; the system scores against a standardised rubric reviewed by domain experts.

What kind of jobs does the platform cover?

Initial focus: retail associate, kitchen helper, electrician, two-wheeler mechanic, beautician, BPO voice, nurse aide, solar technician, logistics handler, security guard — roughly 60 job families at maturity.

How much does the employer pay?

Typically 4–8% of annual CTC for grey-collar roles, or a flat ₹2,000–₹6,000 per placement for blue-collar. Refund or free re-placement within 90 days of joining.

How is this different from apna.co?

Apna is primarily a listings + chat product. We do listings plus assessment, training, verification and post-placement mentoring — a full outcome chain rather than just a marketplace.

What about entrepreneurship?

If the assessment suggests a candidate is better suited to running their own micro-enterprise (mechanic shop, tailoring unit, food cart, salon), we route them to micro-loans and equipment financing through FinWault partnerships.

How do you stop fake candidates?

Aadhaar-linked profiles, live-photo verification, optional background checks, and a public candidate-rating mechanism that employers contribute to after each engagement.

Will BIDUA hire from its own platform?

Yes — and intentionally. BIDUA Pods, Naploo, BIDUA Beauty and BIDUA Hosting will all use the platform as a primary hiring channel, ensuring real-world demand even in pilot phase.
