Wall Bicycle Stand
Indian apartments shrank to 600 sq ft. The bicycle should not steal a hundred of them.
Urban India is full of cyclists who don't ride enough because their bicycle is wedged behind the sofa or rusting on a balcony. The two big enemies of bicycle ownership in a 2BHK are floor space and weather exposure. Both are solved by going vertical.
The Wall Bicycle Stand is a heavy-gauge powder-coated steel wall-mount with a swing-out hook (taking the bike from horizontal entry to vertical hang), an integrated combination lock loop, and a rubber-padded frame contact zone that protects the paint. It is rated for 35 kg — enough for hybrids and most e-bikes.
BIDUA's edge here is not novelty — it's distribution, finish quality, and pairing with the BIDUA Pods manufacturing line (same powder-coating, same QC). It is a high-margin, low-SKU, fast-moving consumer-hardware product that fits our existing tooling perfectly.
A bicycle that lives on the floor becomes furniture in the way. A bicycle that lives on the wall becomes art. We are not selling a stand — we are selling back the square footage.
The opportunity, on its own terms.
Indian apartment sizes are collapsing.
Average urban flat size in metros has dropped from ~1,200 sq ft (2010) to ~700 sq ft (2024). Vertical storage is no longer optional.
Cycling boomed post-COVID and stuck.
AIOCD figures suggest Indian premium-bicycle sales (₹15k+ segment) grew ~3× between 2019 and 2024. These are bikes owners actually care about — they will not let them rust.
Hostile balconies.
Real-estate norms and society rules in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi increasingly ban balcony-stored items. Indoor storage is forced — and wall-mount is the only sane answer.
E-bikes are arriving.
Hero Lectro, EMotorad and Ninety One e-bike growth means heavier bikes (20–28 kg) — floor parking gets harder, wall mounting more valuable.
Sized in three rings.
- Indian bicycle market ~₹8,500 cr / yr, growing ~9% CAGR (Niti Aayog 2023).
- Decathlon India sells ~2 lakh bikes a year through its stores alone — a directly addressable retail channel.
- Wall-mount accessories category on Amazon India / Flipkart has <8 serious players — most are unbranded imports.
- E-bike segment growing 35% YoY (SMEV) — these are higher-value bikes that demand premium storage.
How it works, end to end.
Single SKU, two finishes
One core product — Wall Stand Pro — in matte black and white. No SKU sprawl, no inventory complexity. The lockable Pro+ variant adds ₹500.
D2C-first distribution
Sold primarily via biduapods.com / dedicated micro-site, then expanded to Amazon, Flipkart and Croma. Decathlon partnership explored for in-store demo placement.
Shared manufacturing line
Powder-coating, sheet-metal bending and QC reuse the existing BIDUA Pods Noida line during off-shift hours — incremental capex is near-zero.
Install-included pricing
₹500 install add-on in Delhi-NCR via a tied-up handyman network (UrbanCompany / native crew). Avoids the #1 D2C return reason: 'I could not drill into the wall.'
Bulk B2B
Office bicycle parking, co-working spaces and Naploo properties as institutional buyers — 50–500 unit orders at a discounted ASP.

Who else is here — and why we're different.

- Install service is a real product, not just a promise.
- 2-year structural warranty — unmatched in the unbranded category.
What can go wrong — and how we plan for it.
Wall-type compatibility complaints
Mitigation: Ship anchor kits for both AAC block and brick. Install service covers complex walls. Clear pre-purchase wall-check guide.
Low-quality imports race to the bottom
Mitigation: Compete on finish, install and warranty — not price. Position next to bike, not next to a generic hook.
Society / landlord drilling restrictions
Mitigation: Offer a no-drill freestanding tension-pole variant in Year 2 as a SKU extension.
Logistics damage to long flat-pack
Mitigation: Custom corrugated box, foam edge-guards, partnership with Delhivery Heavy for >5 kg, premium D2C.

Questions partners and investors actually ask.
What kind of wall does it work on?
Brick, RCC, and AAC-block walls. We ship anchor kits for all three. Drywall not recommended unless you can hit a stud.
Will it scratch my bike's paint?
No. The frame contact zone is rubber-padded; the wheel cradle uses a soft polymer insert.
What's the maximum bike weight?
35 kg static, including the bike and any panniers. This covers most hybrids and the majority of e-bikes.
Can I install it myself?
Yes — the kit includes a paper template, all anchors, and a fitting video. Most installs take 8–10 minutes.
Is install available outside Delhi-NCR?
At launch, only NCR. Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad added by Year 2 via partner-handyman networks.
What is the warranty?
2 years against structural defects (welds, hinge, powder-coat blistering). Replacement-only policy — we collect the old unit.
Does it lock the bike?
The Pro variant has a loop for an external U-lock. The Pro+ variant adds an integrated combination loop.
Do you do bulk orders for offices?
Yes — minimum 50 units. We discount and include institutional install in NCR; logistics-only outside.
