Wooden Multipurpose Gadget Charging Station
A teakwood island for your desk — where every gadget lands, charges, and disappears at once.
The Indian urban desk has quietly become a tangle. A phone, a smartwatch, a pair of earbuds, a stylus, a power bank — five devices, five chargers, five cables, and a single overworked extension board. The Wooden Multipurpose Charging Station collapses all of that into one slab of solid Indian hardwood with a Qi pad, a watch puck, an earbuds dock, a tray for keys, and clean cable routing underneath.
Wood is not chosen as decoration. Wood is chosen because it ages well, dissipates heat passively, looks at home in both a Powai apartment and a Jaipur haveli, and signals craft in a category dominated by glossy plastic. The unit is precision-CNC'd from sustainably-sourced sheesham or teak offcuts — the same supply chain BIDUA Pods already operates for its pod interiors.
Positioned at ₹4,999 launch MRP, this is BIDUA's first standalone consumer-electronics SKU — a low-risk, high-margin test of whether our manufacturing depth can travel from B2B sleeping pods into the D2C home-office market.
The desk is the last room of the house that still looks like a server rack. A single piece of wood, shaped well, can hide all of it — without hiding any of it from you.
The opportunity, on its own terms.
India's WFH desk is here to stay.
Hybrid work has become structural. The home desk is no longer a lockdown improvisation — it is a daily workspace that buyers are willing to invest ₹5,000–15,000 in upgrading.
Wireless charging is finally universal.
Every phone above ₹25,000 sold in India in 2026 supports Qi. Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, OnePlus Watch all charge wirelessly. A single station now genuinely serves a household.
Wood-craft has a margin story plastic cannot match.
A plastic dock retails at ₹1,500 with 30% margin. A solid-wood unit retails at ₹5,000 with 55% margin and zero competition from Chinese imports — wood is heavy, customs-heavy, and hard to ship.
BIDUA Pods already runs the workshop.
Our Noida CNC line cuts veneer and hardwood eight hours a day. A charging-station SKU uses leftover stock and idle machine hours — incremental revenue with near-zero incremental capex.
Sized in three rings.
- Indian premium home-office accessories are projected to grow 14% CAGR through 2030 if hybrid work patterns hold.
- Wireless-charging penetration in smartphones sold in India crossed 40% in 2025 — the addressable household base is real.
- Gifting season (Diwali, corporate Q4) absorbs an estimated 35% of premium desk-accessory volume each year.
- Wood-craft exports from India touched USD 3.4 B in FY25 — the supply chain and skill base already exist.
How it works, end to end.
Manufacture in-house
Use idle CNC capacity at the BIDUA Pods Noida workshop. Sheesham and teak offcuts from pod production become the raw material — a circular-economy story we can market honestly.
Direct-to-consumer first
Launch on bidua.in with a Shopify storefront, then expand to Amazon India, Flipkart and Myntra Home. D2C preserves margin and customer data for the first 12 months.
Corporate gifting B2B
Customisable laser-engraved logo SKUs for IT companies, banks and consulting firms. Bulk orders of 500–5,000 units at Diwali. Margin is lower but volume is predictable.
Hospitality channel
Bundle into Naploo guestroom packages and BIDUA Pods deployments. A wooden charging station on every nightstand is on-brand and increases the perceived value of the room.
Modular upsell
Add-on modules — a desk lamp arm, a humidifier dock, a phone-stand riser — sold separately. Each module is another ₹1,500–2,500 in basket size from the same customer.
Three compounding phases.

- BIS-certified Qi coil, not a grey-market import.
- Personalisation via laser engraving included free above ₹4,999.
What can go wrong — and how we plan for it.
Qi standard evolves to a new connector
Mitigation: Replaceable coil module — owners can upgrade the electronics without replacing the wood shell.
Wood warping in coastal humidity
Mitigation: Marine-grade oil finish and moisture-resistant base. One-year warranty against warping.
Low D2C conversion at ₹4,999 price point
Mitigation: Tiered pricing — entry SKU at ₹2,999 with smaller footprint and fewer features.
Knock-offs from grey-market sellers
Mitigation: Design registration, BIDUA-branded QR authentication, and continuous SKU evolution.
Inventory carrying cost
Mitigation: Make-to-order model for premium SKUs. Hold inventory only for the bestselling two configurations.

Questions partners and investors actually ask.
Which wood will it be made from?
Two launch SKUs — sheesham (Indian rosewood, darker) and teak (lighter, grain-rich). Both sourced from the same FSC-certified suppliers we use for BIDUA Pods.
Will it charge my iPhone fast?
Yes — 15W Qi output, MagSafe-compatible alignment. Up to 50% charge in ~30 minutes on a modern iPhone.
Can it charge my Apple Watch and AirPods together with the phone?
Yes — all three pads operate simultaneously. Total output is rated at 20W, distributed across the three coils.
Is there a warranty?
Two years on electronics, one year against wood warping. Lifetime free re-oiling at our Noida workshop if you can ship it back.
Can I get my company logo engraved?
Yes — for corporate gifting orders above 50 units, laser-engraving is free. For individual orders, it is a ₹299 add-on.
Does it work with Android phones?
Yes — any Qi-enabled phone. Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Realme, Pixel — all supported.
Will it overheat my phone?
No. The wooden base acts as a passive heatsink and the coil has automatic thermal cut-off. Tested in a 45°C ambient.
When will it ship?
First batch ships Q4 2027 timed with Diwali. Pre-orders placed before launch get the founding-customer price.
